Are You Suffering Relationships Depression

Relationships depression is not uncommon in those who are in bad relationships or those who have recently experienced a relationship breakup and then got back together. When you get back together after a breakup you may expect to feel happy that you are back together but often you can actually feel depressed because you know that the relationship does have its problems.

Most relationships will go through difficult patches from time to time and if you have had your share of problems but are still together then you should be happy right? If you are still together then there is no reason why you would suffer from relationships depression, so why do you?

When you are going through a difficult patch in a relationship you may experience all sorts of emotions. The reason for the difficult patch could be something that is hard to get over or forget. For example, if you were cheated on then even if you and your partner are still together you probably haven’t forgotten about the cheating. It will take time to get over infidelity and regain some trust in your partner and for a long time you may worry about getting hurt again. It’s completely understandable that you might feel depressed.

If you were the one who cheated in the relationship then you may become depression with the guilt of hurting your partner. You are happy that they forgave you but you may still feel an enormous guilt for the pain you caused them. You will also feel that your partner no longer trusts you and is suspicious of everything you do.

Even in a relationship when there is no cheating involved there may be other issues that can begin to depress you. If you and your partner reached a point of breaking up or almost breaking up, then there must be some issues that have caused the relationship to reach that point.

Even though you and your partner are still together you may wonder if they really do want to be with you and if a break up will occur in the future. You may become quite insecure about the relationship.

When a relationship is at a point of breaking up or almost breaking up then you do go through a rollercoaster of emotions. You may be living in fear of the relationship reaching that point again.

You may find yourself constantly thinking about anything that is wrong in the relationship and you may constantly worry about breaking up. This constant worry and negative thinking can lead to depression.

It is difficult living with someone when there is a lot of tension between you. Even if you get back together after a breakup you may feel that there are some issues that haven’t been dealt with and until they are dealt with then there will always be a certain amount of tension.

It is great to save a relationship and stop a potential break up and it is great to get back together and save a relationship after a break up. However, the issues that caused the relationship to reach that point must be dealt with otherwise the relationship will not continue on a happy path and you can find yourself suffering from relationships depression.

Relationship Breakup – Don’t Be Blindsided

Relationship breakup, what are the signs?  Are you worried that your relationship is getting ready to crash and burn?  Not sure what signs you should be on the lookout for?  No one likes to be blindsided. Being blindsided always results in pain whether physical or emotional. Even if your relationship ends, the pain will be a little less if you can see it coming and brace for impact. There are some signs that all may not be well on the home front, if you  keep your eyes open.

The first thing you need to remember is that we are usually pretty good at lying to ourselves. We are remarkably adept at keeping the blinders firmly in place if removing them would be to face certain pain. In the long run though you only do more harm than good by ignoring the inevitable.  It’s best to see things clearly, if you do you may actually have a chance to change the direction your relationship is taking and prevent the breakup.

Here are some signs that you need to keep an eye out for:

1. If you and your partner used to be joined at the hip but all of a sudden they seem to have a lot of more important things to do, you may be headed for a breakup. Of course, don’t be a twit and ignore the fact that they just got a promotion and they’re a lot busier at work. If they don’t have a reasonable excuse for their sudden absence you may want to sit them down and have a talk with them to try and figure out what is going on.

Make sure that you ask them what the problem is and not accuse them of anything. If you accuse them of something and they are just feeling a little down or overwhelmed you may just give them cause to end the relationship. Be careful to not come off defensively.  Stay calm and rational when you talk to them.

2. Does your ‘better half’ suddenly seem to need a lot of privacy? If their habits change and they become much more private it could be  a sign that they are talking to someone and they don’t want you to know. If they are suddenly leaving the room to talk on their cell phone, or they are taking their laptop into the other room, you may want to ask them, nicely, what’s going on.  If they say ‘nothing’ that might well be your answer since it’s obvious that their behavior has changed and if they don’t have a good reason why it could be that there isn’t a good reason.  Again, though, give them the benefit of the doubt. You’d look awfully stupid if you accused them of something when all they were doing was planning a great anniversary trip or surprise birthday party.

3. Sex, do you still have it as often as you once did? Is there a change in who initiates it? If your partner used to always want sex and suddenly they just don’t seem interested, it could be a sign that they have found someone else.  Of course, it could also be a sign that they’re tired, overwhelmed, depressed, etc.  Don’t jump to conclusions, just ask.

Many times the signs of a relationship breakup are pretty easy to spot, as long as you’re not so afraid to see them that you ignore them. By spotting them early you’ve got a much better shot at dealing with whatever the issues are before the actual breakup. You might just be able to save your relationship by keeping your eyes wide open.

The emotional roller coaster of a painful breakup generally affects both parties in similar ways.  The intensity may be different for the person who wanted the breakup than for the ‘dumpee’, but both people will go through the emotional stages of a relationship breakup.

1) Pain.  This will often hit hard and fast.  At first the pain can be diminished somewhat by a feeling of disbelief but once that passes the pain can seem unbearable.  This is a physical pain.  You might not be able to eat or sleep.  Everything seems like too much effort. You just want to crawl into a corner and be left alone.

2) Denial.  This is the step when you start thinking that it is all a big mistake and surely your ex will realize it very soon and the two of you will be back together.  That can be a dangerous way to think.  It is important that you try to move through this stage as quickly as possible.  Lingering too long in this stage can really make it harder to heal and move on.

3) Anger.  This is when all your fear and hurt turns to anger.  You are outraged that someone who claimed to love you could hurt you so deeply.  This stage is very destructive and hurtful to both parties and if you’re not careful how you handle this stage you migh sabotage any chances you have of getting back together.

It’s also important to make sure you don’t become overly bitter.  If you let that bitterness grow too strong it could follow you into other relationships making it harder to ever having a fulfilling relationship again.

4) Grieving.  At this stage you will mourn your lost relationship.  You will often spend a lot of time reminiscing about all the good times the two of you had shared.  It is very important to keep a close watch on your mental health during this stage.

If you ever feel like ‘ending it all’ make sure you seek help immediately.  It is impossible to believe while going through this but you really will love again, if you allow yourself to.

5) Acceptance.  You will finally reach a point where you realize it’s over.  You are stronger and better able to start thinking more about your future and less about your past. This time can be bittersweet: you’ve realized and dealt with the fact that your relationship is over which is sad, but you’re also excited about new opportunities and convinced you will find love again.

The more you know about the  emotional stages of a relationship breakup and how to deal with them the easier and quicker you can move on from living in the past to a bright new future.  Just make sure you understand that this is all normal and it will get better, just hang in there.

There are negative people in the world and there are positive people. If you’ve just experienced a relationship breakup, you’re going to find that you are in a very negative place. Step Four: Start Dating Again

The final step in recovering from a relationship break up is to start dating other people. The thing you need to keep in mind is that you are not trying to replace your ex, you’re just trying to start seeing the world as a place without them. So you need to see other people and get out there. Don’t look at every date as a new chance at love, just look at them as a way to get your mojo back.
